The Jazz Theory Workshop

This workshop is part of a larger series of jazz education workshops and classes offered by the New York Jazz Workshop. This particular class focuses on strengthening the knowledge of the fundamentals necessary to improve improvisation vocabulary, and broadening the understanding of the basic harmonic, melodic, and rhythmic elements. Students come from all different backgrounds and experiences but they share a passion for music. During the class students work on ear training, sight singing, modes, cadences and chord progressions, analysis of tunes and improvisation. The Jazz theory workshop is open to all instrumentalists and vocalists.
